Wilmington, NC (December 1, 2016) Welcome Home Angel has recently expanded its capacity and hired its first Executive Director, Logan White Thompson, to support its plan for growth in the coming years.

Logan Thompson | Executive DIrector“We are very pleased to welcome Logan to our organization,” said John Kaiser, Founder and Board Chair of Welcome Home Angel. “In order to achieve our goals of serving more children and families it is imperative that we have a knowledgeable and dynamic Executive Director to lead the way. With Logan we have found someone who will help us get to the level of service we require.”

Currently, Welcome Home Angel serves six families per year. The organization expects to see this number double or even triple in the next few years.

Logan will be running the day-to-day activities of the organization, and will spearhead all efforts related to fundraising, public relations, and marketing. “I am beyond thrilled to be working on such a worthwhile cause, and with such a fabulous organization,” said Logan. “With over 300 children needing these services in our area right this minute, Welcome Home Angel is a crucial organization for Wilmington, with incredible opportunity for growth.”

Prior to this position, Logan served in development roles with Good Shepherd Center, United Way of Onslow County, Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity, and the Children’s Museum of Wilmington. She has also worked with QENO (Quality Enhancement for Nonprofit Organizations) as a nonprofit Coach, and received her Masters in Public Administration from UNCW in 2012.

Founded in 2007, Welcome Home Angel’s mission is to bring joy and comfort to children in the Wilmington area with chronic and debilitating illnesses or injuries. It carries out this mission by renovating and remodeling the bedrooms and other living spaces of chronically ill or injured children with necessary accommodations to make life easier and happier for both parent and child. Renovations vary and may include ramps or door widening to accommodate a wheelchair, a new mattress, specialized bathing equipment, and more.
