Welcome Home Angel adapts homes for children, adults, and older adults living with illness, disability, or the changes that come with aging. There is no cost to apply, and our team reviews every request personally.
Find the right program
CapAble: older adults 50+
For adults 50 and older in New Hanover County. An occupational therapist, a registered nurse, and a handy worker visit your home over 4 to 5 months to help you stay safe and do the things that matter to you. CapAble is modeled on Johns Hopkins’ CAPABLE program. Anyone can refer, and no doctor’s order is needed.
AdaptAble: children and youth 4 to 21
Custom bedrooms, bathrooms, and sensory spaces for children with disabilities or medical complexity in New Hanover, Brunswick, and Pender counties. Anyone can nominate a child.
AccessAble: adults 21+
For adults living with a disability, a chronic condition, or a serious injury. Join the interest list and our team will review your situation.

Does it cost anything to apply?
No. There is no cost to apply to any of our programs.
Do I need a doctor's referral?
No. You do not need a doctor’s referral or order to apply or refer someone.
Can I apply for someone else?
Yes. Family members, friends, caregivers, healthcare providers, and case managers can all refer someone.
How long does it take?
It depends on the program and the project. We fully fund and plan each project before work begins, so we will talk with you about timing once we review your request.
